James W. Thompson State of Illinois Building

February 20 - 28 2017

A small exhibit for one week exhibit at the highly trafficked State of Illinois building was part of the Black History Month celebration.  This exhibit featured African - American businesses in Chicago both large and small.  Black entrepreneurship is essential to the vitality of African - American communities.  This exhibit was requested by The Illinois Governor's Office.

The DuSable Museum Black History Month

February 8, 2017

In conjunction with Black History Month, Chicago's celebrated DuSable Museum showcased a gallery of many of Chicago's African - American men of great accomplishment in Chicago, past and present. This exhibit ran from the beginning of February to March 31, 2017.

September 27, 2016

To celebrate The Great Migration and the beginning of the revitalization of The Chicago Defender Archives, we had a wonderful exhibit that highlighted images, not seen in decades.  Also included in the exhibit were artifacts from Founder, Robert Abbott.  The opening night was September 27, 2016 and ran until December 31, 2016.
